Description

The transport regulation of the animal protection organisation regulates the cleaning and hygienic conditions of carrier pigeon transport vehicles.

Preventing the contamination of the drinking water in the cabin express by adding additives to the water and thus counteracting the risk of mutual contamination of the pigeons is met with resistance from many pigeon fanciers. In addition, new and very modern efficient solutions are available. The carrier pigeons are exposed to a high risk of mutual contamination in the transport vehicles, and even more so when it comes to vehicles with continuous drinking troughs. Converting these vehicles to a structure with separate drinking troughs would certainly make sense and be worth considering. The fact that the used water is drained immediately after each flight and fresh drinking water is only added to the tank when the vehicle is used again should be the norm! Isn't that right?

Most bacteria are transported and distributed through water pipes. A biofilm is created that allows an unhindered increase of bacteria and fungi in the water tank and in the drinking troughs of the transport vehicles. In technical terms, this problem is called 'crowding'. The biofilm is often not visible and can only be partially detected in the laboratory. The problems in poultry houses with biofilms in the water pipes are enormous. The solution to this problem is called DF3000 from Dostofarm GmbH Germany. Dostofarm GmbH is a globally active company and specializes in natural and environmentally friendly solutions for problems in animal housing. DF3000 is approved as a disinfectant for drinking water and not only prevents the formation of a biofilm, but also removes existing films.

DF3000 is a special anolyte produced using a patented process of electrochemical hydrolysis. Traditional anolyte solutions are not stable and decay after just a few days/weeks. Because they are stored in completely unsuitable and light-permeable plastic containers, the decay process starts after just a few hours due to the formation of toxic chlorates. The desired optimum effect is quickly lost. In addition, traditional anolyte solutions often have a greatly increased salt content, the result of an outdated production technique. In this way, however, the animals also drink more salt than is good for them. Excessively high salt levels in the drinking water lead to intestinal peristalsis and therefore to food diarrhoea. The animals are more thirsty due to the salt intake and drink too much water. To make matters worse, the water pipes are subject to considerable rust formation due to corrosion due to the aged anolyte. The problem has led to water pipes rusting through in many large poultry houses after short-term use of aged anolyte. In cab vehicles with iron water tanks, plastic pipes and high-quality stainless steel drinking troughs, there is a need for certainty, experience and guarantee in connection with the product used.

DF3000 is a special anolyte with certainty, experience and guarantee in this area. It kills bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores, removes the biofilm from the drinking troughs and the water tank and protects the racing pigeons from high infection pressure. The feared crowding due to contaminated drinking water is reliably ruled out. The racing pigeons are given germ-free water with a neutral taste and will show completely normal drinking behaviour. Years of practical experience in the field of poultry prove this unequivocally. DF3000 is neutral in taste, pH neutral and non-corrosive. This means that the pipes and drinking troughs are not subjected to any additional strain. DF3000 is manufactured by a certified manufacturer using multi-chamber electrolysis cells specially developed and patented in Western Europe with a unique flow diagram, with attention to ISO requirements. From 2014 onwards, all disinfection products for drinking water will have to be able to present European approval. At that time at the latest, it will be clear where very modern techniques can be used that produce special anolyte solutions, and where this is not the case.

The countdown has begun and quality is gaining ground. Transport managers who want to use disinfection products for drinking water should take the following into account when using them for the first time. It is recommended to first perform a basic cleaning of the water tank and the drinking troughs to remove the biofilm. This is very easy to do by mixing 2 litres of DF3000 per 200 litres of water in the water tank. Then you simply let the pumps run and all the drinking troughs are filled with water. Let the drinking troughs stand full of water for an hour and then repeat the process again. The tank and the drinking troughs are then clean and germ-free. For further use, 1 litre of DF3000 per 200 litres of water is sufficient. You can also add this dosage to the drinking water in the cabin express at the weekend.
